The installers were supposed to arrive between 8am and 9am, and they rolled in right at 9am.
I thought that it would be an all day affair, but Bill said it would only take about three hours, and by 1130am they were all finished.
I got them to haul away the damaged living room recliner. The cheap vinyl was all deteriorating, and I said that it was even too ugly by my standards! That cost forty bucks, but I am glad that the hassle is gone.
$432.30 Includes the installation, hauling the scrap carpet, a new pad, and the forty bucks for recliner removal.
Looks great, and I think that they are a quality outfit, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

The Waiting Game
I am writing this on Monday morning, October 24. Yesterday I finally got the email from Menard's that the carpet had been delivered to the store.
Almost a month ago, I ordered the carpet. When Bill and Rita installed the kitchen floor in June of this year, they said that what I needed was a kind of carpet called, 'FREIZE'. I had never heard of this, and later realized it is just a new name for the old, 'SHAG' style. Works for me! In fact, it will compliment the family room since the walls are done with 'popcorn finish' on the walls and ceiling. This was quite posh during the 70's.
I talked with the long haired guy at Menard's who helped me select the linoleum for the kitchen. I placed the order, and it was the same stuff that I liked when I had visited the store a few days earlier.
The order was for two sections. 12'X 20' ,and 12' X 8'. The color is 'Earth Brown'.
The total bill to my card was $286.68. Sometime after the purchase I got a letter from Memorial, and I was told that I was getting a refund for $175. I thought that this charge was my deductible, but I guess it wasn't. I'll take it! This certainly reduces the cost of the remodel.
I called Rita on Sunday afternoon 10/23, and they will come over to install the carpet on Thursday around 830am, and it should take most of the day. They quoted an installation price of $432.30, and this includes the cost of padding.
